the 8th of november, 2007 rolled around, i was at work (telemarketer at mercury blue), and i realised i hadnt yet gotten my period for that month and i was pretty sure i should of by now. i chatted to a work mate about it, and she agreed and convinced me to go buy a test, which we did in our lunch break!
i went home that night, and did the test once i got home. and guess what! IT WAS POSITIVE!!! we were having our baby! when mike got home that night, i showed him the test and he was shocked, and surprised. i remember him asking if i was sure we wanted it, to which i said YES!!!
he started to get a bit more excited as it slowly sunk in.
the next day i booked a doctors appointment for blood tests, which they didnt do, they had me do another urine test which again was positve. prescribed me folate and gave me a referral to see Dr Andre Klomp at the Mount Barker DSM Hospital.
went home that evening and told mike again, that yep, we are indeed definately pregnant, to which he was again shocked. but once again, he got used to the idea and became excited, so we decided to go see his parents, which we did.
we got to their place, and all sat in the lounge as usual. after a while, mike asked his mum if she would be available for some babysitting in july next year??? to which she said yes, and asked if it was for roxi??? to which mike said no.... she just kinda looked at us saying REALLY???? and as we looked at each other and nodded she and dad were full of congratulations and excitement!
i then called my parents, my mum first! i asked if she would prefer to be called 'nana' or 'grandma', to which she sarted crying and kinda screaming, going OMG, she was pretty excited! lol (she also settled on grandma, but liked G-ma, cos it was a more hip version of grandma!)
i then called my dad, who was also shocked and surprised but seemed excited! his girlfriend Jo was very excited!
and this is where it all started..... our little baby was on its way!!!
